titleOfInvention Coated magnetic substance composition and its preparation
abstract PURPOSE: The titled composition useful as magnetic tapes, magnetic drums, etc., whose particles are not destroyed even by a high-impact dispersing means such as ball mill, etc., having improved long-term dispersion stability, consisting of magnetic substance particles covered with thin films of cured polymer insoluble in a medium for a magnetic coating compound. n CONSTITUTION: (A) A precursor (e.g., anionic and/or cationic thermosetting compound) capable of forming a cured polymer insoluble in a medium for a magnetic coating compound is blended with (B) an aqueous fine dispersion of magnetic particles (e.g., 0.3W0.8 micron needle-like γ-iron oxide, etc.), adsorbed, deposited or precipitated on the surface of magnetic particles, and the precursor A is simultaneously cured to give the desired composition. n EFFECT: Having low change with time, and no rise in viscosity during preparation of a coating compound. n USE: For coating magnetic discs, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
