PURPOSE: An organometallic compound including impurities is subjected to oxidation or hydrolysis under specific conditions, then distilled to concentrate the impurities in the reaction product and obtain the organometallic compound completely free from the impurities. n CONSTITUTION: An organometallic compound such as triethylaluminum, dibutylaluminum hydride including trace amounts of Ti, V, Cr, Si, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and other impurities is oxidized or hydrolyzed under stirring at 0W150°C by 0.1W 50%, preferably 1W20% of the organometallic compound to form a solid reaction product. Then, the reaction mixture is subjected to solid-liquid separation, then the unreacting organometallic compound is recovered from the reaction product by distillation. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio |
