titleOfInvention Analysis element for quantitative determination of bilirubin
abstract PURPOSE:To enable easy and quick determination of the bilirubin in a liquid sample (serum, etc.) with high sensitivity by incorporating a hardly diffusible aryl diazonium salt having a specific substituent in an aryl group in a porous reagent layer of a multi-layered element of analysis. CONSTITUTION:An element of analysis is prepd. by incorporating a hardly diffusible aryl diazonium salt having >=1 substituent selected from the group of an alkoxy carbonyl group, alkyl aminosulfonyl group and alkyl aminocarbonyl group as an indicator for detecting bilirubin in a porous reagent layer. The reagent prepd, by making, for example, 2-methoxy-5-(tetradecyl oxycarbonyl) benzendiazonium tetrafluoroborate together with an acidic polymer of a methyl vinyl ether/maleic anhydride copolymer or the like into an aq.soln. and dispersing fine solid particles such as silica diatomaceous earth, fine crystaline cellulose, etc. in said aq. soln. is coated on a film of colorless transparent resin such as polyester, etc. and is dried, by which a reagent layer is formed. A sample developed layer is provided on the reagent layer.
