abstract NEW MATERIAL:An angelic ester derivative shown by the formula (R is n- hexyl, n-heptyl, n-octyl, n-nonyl, n-decyl, cyclopentyl, cylohexyl, 2-methylpentyl, α-methylbenzyl, furfuryl, or neryl). n EXAMPLE: Heptyl angelate. n USE: Useful as one component for perfume compositions. The addition of the titled compound to another perfume composition provides further improved effect, it is added to cosmetic, detergent, etc. and usable as a perfume composition for cosmetic. It is added to foods, favorite foods, drinks, etc. and usable as flavor. n PROCESS: A mixture of algelic methyl ester and an alcohol corresponding to a compound shown by the formula, namely, n-hexyl alcohol, n-heptyl alcohol, etc. is treated in the presence of an ester exchange catalyst, to give the compound shown by the formula. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
