titleOfInvention Production of ethylene copolymer
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled copolymer of a narrow composition distribution in high yields, by copolymerizing ethylene with an α-olefin and a polyene by using a catalyst comprising a specified vanadium trichloride, an organoaluminum compound and an organomagnesium compound. n CONSTITUTION: A catalyst of a still higher activity is obtained from (A) a vanadium trichloride which is solubilized in a hydrocarbon medium with the aid of an oxygen-containing electron donor, (B) an organoaluminum compound (e.g., ethylaluminum sesquichloride), and (C) an organomagnesium compound (e.g., diisopropylmagnesium). The titled copolymer of a high yield per unit weight of vanadium is obtained by copolymerizing ethylene with a 3C or higher α-olefin or copolymerizing ethylene with a 3C or higher α-olefin and a polyene by using the above catalyst. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
