titleOfInvention | Hydration of acetylene and its derivative |
abstract | PURPOSE:To produce an aldehyde easily, economically, selectively, in high yield and efficiency, by hydrating an acetylene compound using a specific polyacid as a photo-catalyst. CONSTITUTION:An aldehyde is prepared by hydrating acetylene or its derivative of formula [X is H, <=10C alkyl or (substituted) phenyl] under the radiation of sun light, etc. in the presence of a photo-catalyst comprising one or more polyacids selected from isopolyacids composed of titanic acid, tungstic acid, molybdic acid, vanadic acid, niobic acid, tantalic acid or uranic acid, e.g. isopolytungstic acid, etc. and heteropolyacids compsed of the above acid and Si, P, B or Co, e.g. phosphotungstic heteropolyacid. EFFECT:Since the photo-catalyst keeps its activity stably, and can be used repeatedly without necessitating troublesome operation, the running cost for the production of the objective compound is also reduced. |
