titleOfInvention Benzo(a)carbazole derivative and its preparation
abstract NEW MATERIAL:2-Hydroxy-11H-benzo[a]carbazole-3-carbohydrazide shown by the formula I , and a compound shown by the formula II (R 1 and R 2 are H, lower alkyl, phenyl, naphthyl, pyrenyl, benzyl, thienyl, furyl, etc., R 1 and R 2 may be linked to form ring). n USE: A raw material for electron generating pigment for a sensitized material of lamination type of electrophotography. n PROCESS: 2-Hydroxy-11H-benzo[a]carbazole-3-carboxylic acid is dispersed into methanol, and stirred, boron trifluoride ethyl ether complex and conc. sulfuric acid are added to the dispersion at room temperature, temperature is raised gradually, they are reacted at reflux temperature to give a methyl ester, which is reacted with hydrazine hydrate, to give a compound shown by the formula I . The compound shown by the formula II is obtained by reacting a compound shown by the formula I with a compound shown by the formula III. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
