titleOfInvention Preparation of hexahydrotriazine compound
abstract PURPOSE: To prepare the titled compound with simple operation, in high yield and purity, by reacting a benzylamine compound with formaldehyde at a specific ratio in an inert hydrocarbon solvent at a specific temperature, and adding an alkali to the reaction system. n CONSTITUTION: 1mol of the benzylamine compound of formula I (R is phenyl or alkyl-substituted phenyl) is made to react with 1.05W1.15mol of formaldehyde (formalin) in the presence of an inert hydrocarbon solvent at a ≤50°C, preferably at 20W40°C, and the resultant reaction mixture is incorporated with 0.02W 0.1mol, based on 1mol of the compound of formula I , of an alkali at ≤50°C to obtain the objective compound of formula I . The inert hydrocarbon solvent is e.g. hexane, heptane, benzene, toluene, xylene, etc., especially xylene. The alkali is a hydroxide or carbonate of alkali metal or alkaline earth metal, e.g. NaOH, KOH, Na 2 CO 3 , etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
