titleOfInvention Manufacture of metal-surfaced polyamide formed product
abstract PURPOSE: To provide a polyamide formed product with uniform and firm metal plating, with its inherent properties remained intact, by treating an original polyamide formed product in an ionized active gas atmosphere, followed by applying an electroless plating. n CONSTITUTION: A polyamide formed product is treated in an atmosphere of an ionized active gas (e.g., oxygen, ammonia, sulfur dioxide, air, etc.) (pref. a low- temperature plasma treatemnt under a reduced pressure of several mm Hg), followed by immersion, for example, in a hydrochloric acid aqueous solution containing stannous chloride, and then by immersion in a hydrochloric acid solution of palladium chloride to effect activation. The resulting formed product is subjected to electroless plating using a plating liquid containing such metals as nickel, copper, tin, etc., thus obtaining the objective polyamide formed product. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
