titleOfInvention Manufacture of arsenious acid
abstract PURPOSE: To manufacture arsenious acid of high purity in a high yield by reacting an aqueous soln. contg. copper sulfate with copper sulfide contg. arsenic to obtain a soln. contg. leached arsenic, reacting the soln. with a precipitate contg. arsenic sulfide, and reducing and concentrating the resulting soln. freed of copper. n CONSTITUTION: An aqueous soln. contg. copper sulfate is reacted with copper sulfide contg. arsenic produced in a copper removing stage at about 70W90°C for about 90W150min with stirring, and the resulting slurry is subjected to solid- liq. separation to obtain copper sulfide and a soln. contg. leached arsenic. The soln. contg. leached arsenic is reacted with a precipitate contg. arsenic sulfide at about 70W90°C for about 90W150min with stirring to form copper sulfide contg. arsenic and a soln. freed of copper, and they are subjected to solid-liq. separation. The copper sulfide contg. arsenic is used in said arsenic leaching stage, and the soln. freed of copper is reduced with a gas contg. SO 2 . The reduced soln. contg. arsenic is concentrated by heating or other method, it is cooled to crystallize arsenious acid, and the arsenious acid of high purity is recovered by solid-liq. separation. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
