abstract PURPOSE:To provide a heat-sensitive recording sheet capable of developing a color in a tone advantageous for office work and free from development of ground color or the like, by incorporating a colorless or light-colored specified fluoran derivative and a phenol compound capable of developing the color of the derivative when being heated. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of (A) at least one selected from normally colorless or light-colored compounds of formulas I , II and III (wherein each of R1, R2 is H, lower alkyl; R3 is lower alkyl; R4 is H, nitro) (for example, 3-dimethylamino- 5,7-dimethyl-fluoran, N-4-nitrophenylrhodamine B lactam), (B) a phenol compound capable of developing the color of component A when being heated (for example, 4-t-buthylphenol, alpha-naphthol) and (C) a binder (e.g., polyvinyl alcohol, a terpene resin) is prepared. The mixture is applied onto a base such as a synthetic resin film to obtain the objective heat-sensitive recording sheet.
