titleOfInvention | Preparation of 5-thiaprostaglandin e1 compound |
abstract | PURPOSE: To prepare the titled compound useful for pharmacological use, easily, in high yield, under mild reaction condition, by selectively reducing a 5-thia-Δ 7 - prostaglandin E 1 compound, and if necessary, carrying out the removal of protecting groups, etc. n CONSTITUTION: The 5-thiaprostaglandin E 1 compound of formula II is prepared by selectively reducing 5-thia-Δ 7 -prostaglandin E 1 compound of formula I [R 1 is H or 1W10C alkyl; R 2 is (substituted) 1W10C alkyl, etc.; R 3 and R 4 are H or protecting group; the wavy line between the double bond and S represents 7Z isomer, 7E isomer or their arbitrary mixture], and if necessary, subjecting the reduction product to the removal of the protecting groups and/or hydrolysis. The selective reduction can be carried out with a zinc reducing agent, organic tin hydride, or by the catalytic reduction with Raney-Ni catalyst. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio |
