titleOfInvention Production of pressure-sensitive adhesive tape
abstract PURPOSE: To produce the titled tape which has excellent storage stability, can inhibit an increase in viscosity before application and exhibits excellent tack by heat treatment, etc. after coating, by using a polymer contg. hydrolyzable silicon groups or silanol groups together with a hydrolyzable low-molecular silicon compd. n CONSTITUTION: A hydrozable low-molecular silicon compd. (e.g. tetraethoxysilane) is added to a polymer having hydrolyzable silicon groups or silanol groups at its terminals and/or its side chains (e.g. polyoxyalkylene polymer having hydrolyzable silicon groups or silanol groups at its terminals and/or on its side chain) or a blend thereof with a tackifying resin such as phenolic resin or rosin resin. The mixture is applied to a support and reacted thereon. When stored in a closed container, good storage stability can be obtd. and at the same time, an increase in the viscosity of the adhesive blend before application can be inhibited. After the application to a support, polymn. reaction and/or crosslinking reaction rapidly progress by heat treatment, etc., and the adhesive exhibits good tack. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
