titleOfInvention Production of water-soluble polymer gel
abstract PURPOSE: To produce a nonsticky water-soluble polymer gel, by radical-polymerizing an emulsified dispersion containing an aqueous solution of a water-soluble monomer, a hydrophobic organic solvent and a water-in-oil emulsifier. n CONSTITUTION: An emulsified dispersion is obtained by mixing 95W98wt% aqueous solution containing 30W88wt% one or more water-soluble monomers [e.g., (meth)acrylic acid (salt)] with 0.5W4.5wt% hydrophobic organic solvent (e.g., cyclohexane) and 0.5W4.5wt% water-in-oil emulsifier of an HLB≤11 (e.g., sorbitan monostearate). Then, this emulsified dispersion is radical-polymerized at 10W 90°C in the presence of a thermal polymerization initiator (e.g., t-butyl hydroperoxide). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
