abstract PURPOSE: A health food that contains an extract of MANNENTAKE (Ganoderma incidum) and n extract or squeezed juice of AMACHAZURU (hydangae) or their powders, as active ingredients, thus being used to treate or prevent hypertension, hyperlipemia, arterisoclerosis and other dieseases. n CONSTITUTION: The objective health food contains an extract of MANNEN≃ TAKE and an extract of AMACHAZURU with water, a lower alcohol or a mixture thereof, or a squeezed juice or a powder of AMACHAZURU. The extract of MANNENTAKE to be used is obtained by repeating 2 or 3 times the extraction of dried and crushed fruit bodies of MANNENTAKE with boiling water in a volume of 5W30 times the amount of the dried and crushed product, filtering the extract, concentrating by evaporation at room temperature to 50°C, dialyzing with a semipermeable membrane, centrifuging the precipitate, suspending it in water and freez-drying it. The extract of AMACHAZURU is obtained, according to a usual method for raw herb drugs, by extracting with water, a lower alcohol such as methanol or their mixture and drying it. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
