titleOfInvention Porous diaphragm
abstract PURPOSE: To provide a porous body which has high gas separability and strength and is easy to manufacture in the porous diaphragm to be used for sepn., etc. of gas by packing fine powder in the pores thereof. n CONSTITUTION: Aluminum isopropylate is added to, for example, 10 times by weight of water and is hydrolyzed under stirring. The resulted boehmite sol is subjected to a hydrothermal treatment at 150°C and under satd. steam pressure and is then impregnated in an alumina mullite sintered body (5mm thick) having 5,000Å pore size and 0.3cm 3 /g pore volume. Such sintered body is dried at 100°C and is calcined at 600°C, whereby a sepn. film having 95°C average pore size is obtd. The compsn. of the gas permeated through such film determined after a gas having compsn. H 2 /CO 2 =5.0/95.0 is permeated through the film under 4.0kg/cm 2 pressure is H 2 /CO 2 =10.0/90.0. The average pore size of the sintered powder body obtd. from the boehmite sol is controllable by changing the temp. and time of the heat treatment. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
