abstract PURPOSE:To provide the titled material capable of speedily producing a color with a high color density and excellent stability of a developed color image, wherein a fluoran derivative having an acylanilino skeleton as a partial skeleton and a phenol derivative are incorporated. CONSTITUTION:The heat-sensitive recording material comprises a fluoran derivative having an acylanilino skeleton as a partial skeleton (e.g., 2-p-octanoylaminoanilino-6-diethylaminofluoran) and a phenol derivative [e.g., 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane]. The material is capable of producing a color with a sufficient color density and a sufficient color producing sensitivity, and the color- developed coloring matter is extremely stable as compared to a coloring matter generated from a conventional color former, and is substantially free from decoloration or fading under irradiation with light, heating or moistening for a long period of time, and accordingly, it is advantageous from the viewpoint of long-period preservation of a record.
