abstract | PURPOSE: An antitumor agent, containing a metl mixture of cod-liver oil containing a specific amount of iodine with borneol, effective for preventing or suppressing the multiplication of various tumors, and administrable continuously without side effects. n CONSTITUTION: An antitumor agent containing a melt mixture of cod-liver oil containing 6.5W7.5wt% combined iodine with borneol as an active constiuent. The antitumor agent is usually administered orally, and the dialy dose thereof is 0.5W30g, preferably 1W20g, expressed in terms of the active constituent (the melt mixture) for adults. The above-mentioned melt mixture is obtained by melting 70W90pts.wt. cod-liver oil under heating at 180W230°C, adding 6W8pts.wt. iodine and 7W9pts.wt. borneol (melting point: 210W213°C; purity: ≥97%) in order, stirring the resultant mixture under heating to form a homogeneous dark-brown viscous oily liquid, and cooling the resultant oily liquid to room temperature. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1983,JPO&Japio |
