titleOfInvention Modified polyester resin
abstract PURPOSE: A modified polyester resin having excellent adhesion to metal, moisture resistance and corrosion resistance, prepared by reacting a specified saturated polyester resin with a polyisocyanate and then reacting the product with a silane coupling agent. n CONSTITUTION: An acid component containing at least 40 mol% aromatic dicarboxylic acid, e.g., a mixture of 40W100mol% terephthalic acid and 60W1mol% adipic acid, is reacted with a glycol component, e.g., a mixture of ethylene glycol and neopentyl glycol, to produce a saturated polyester resin, reduced viscosity≥0.2. Next, this saturated polyester resin and a polyisocyanate compound are reacted at an OH/NCO ratio of 0.8W5 and then reacted with about 0.1W 5pts.wt., per 100pts.wt. polyester resin, of an amino group or glycidyl group- containing silane coupling agent, e.g., γ-glycidoxy-propyltrimethoxysilane. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
