titleOfInvention | Method for measurement of oxygen partial pressure |
abstract | PURPOSE:To detect oxygen concns. easily at ordinary temp. by using a resin consisting of a sulfonic acid base ion exchange resin as an electrolyte layer, and measuring the potential difference taking place on the surfaces on both sides of said electrolyte layer. CONSTITUTION:A sulfonic acid base ion exchange resin having a metallic salt of a sulfonic acid as an ion exchange group is used as an electrolyte layer. The electromotive force of an oxygen concentration cell is measured by making the oxygen partial pressure on one side thereof constant and flowing a gas to be measured on the other side. Since this electromotive force is in a constant relation with the logarithm of an oxygen partial pressure ratio, the relation between the electromotive force of the ion exchange resin layer to be used and oxygen partial pressure is determined beforehand, and the corresponding oxygen concn. is determined from the measured electromotive force. Thereby, the oxygen concns. are measured at ordinary temp. or with relatively low heating without requiring high temp. heating. |
