titleOfInvention Processing method for photographic sensitive silver halide material
abstract PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of washing water with no influence on the photographic characterisics, to facilitate the treatment of waste water and to prevent environmental pollution by using a specified (benzo)isothiazoline compound in a washing process following a process using thiosulfate. CONSTITUTION:To water for countercurrent washing in a plurality of tanks in a washing process following a process using thiosulfate is added a compound represented by formula I or II (where R1 is H, halogen, alkyl, alkyl halide, aryl, -R4-O-R5, -CONHR6 or arylalkyl; each of R2 and R3 is H, halogen, alkyl halide or alkyl; R4 is alkylene; each of R5 and R6 is H, alkyl or arylalkyl; R7 is H, halogen, alkyl, aryl, alkyl halide, arylalkyl, -R12-O-R13 or -CONHR14; each of R8-R11 is H, halogen, OH, alkyl, NH2 or NO2; R12 is alkylene; and each of R13 and R14 is H or alkyl). Thus, the amount of washing water can be reduced considerably.
