titleOfInvention Preparation of dipentaerythritol ester mixture
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound useful as a monomer for a homopolymer, etc., by reacting dipentaerythritol with acrylic acid, benzoic acid and a saturated monobasic acid, and introducing a benzoyl group or alkanoyl group into the molecule. n CONSTITUTION: Dipentaerythritol is reacted with acrylic acid (or methacrylic acid), benzoic acid (or phenoxyacetic acid) and a 2W6C saturated monobasic acid at 75W120°C to give the mixture of the aimed formula (R 1 is acryloyl or methacryloyl; R 2 is benzoyl or phenoxyethanoyl; R 3 is 2W6C alkanoyl; R 4 is H; p, q, r and s are as follows: p+q+r+s=6; 1≤p≤6; 0≤q≤5; 0≤r≤5; 0≤s≤3). The reaction can be accelerated by using an acid catalyst in the reaction system, and distilling the formed water with an azeotropic solvent, etc. n USE: A monomer for a copolymer, etc. and a raw material for a resin, reactive diluting agent, reactive plasticizer, adhesive, ink, coating materal, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
