titleOfInvention Nematocide
abstract NEW MATERIAL: A phenoxypropionic acid derivative shown by the formulaI {X 1 is a group shown by the formula II or III; X 2 is nitrile or -COR[R is OH, lower alkoxy, lower alkoxyalkoxy, lower alkenyloxy, -O-Cat (Cat is cation)]}. n EXAMPLE: 3-(p-Methoxypenoxy)propionic acid methyl ester. n USE: A nematocide. n PROCESS: A compound shown by the formula X 1 -OH is reacted with 3-chloropropionitrile to give a compound shown by the formulaI(X 2 is nitrile). After this compound is treated with conc. hydrochloric acid and converted into a compound shown by the formulaI[X 2 is -COR (R is OH)], it is conventionally esterified to give a compound shown by the formulaI[X 2 is -COR (R is the above-mentioned group except OH)]. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
