titleOfInvention | Adhesion treatment for rubber-reinforcing fiber |
abstract | PURPOSE: To improve the softness and change of hygroscopic resistance with time of an RFL-treated fiber and to inhibit the deterioration of its adhesiveness with time, by treating a rubber-reinforcing fiber with RFL liquid containing resorcinol resin modified by cresol. n CONSTITUTION: 1mol of cresol is reacted with 0.5W2.5mol of formaldehyde, and then with 0.8W1.5mol of a resorcinol compound having the formula (wherein X is a hydrogen atom or a 1W8C alkyl group), to produce cresol-resorcinol copolymer resin. The copolymer resin is mixed with rubber latex at the ratio of 1 to 1W10wt. of solid matters, to obtain RFL liquid modified by cresol. Its RF component, i.e., the resorcinol-formaldehyde resin, is modified by cresol, so that the softness and change of hydroscopic resistance with time of the RFL-treated fiber are impoved and that the deterioration of its adhesiveness to rubber with time can be inhibited. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
