titleOfInvention Shock absorbing foam
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled foam having excellent shock absorbing property and suitable compressive breaking strength, by reacting a high-OH value polyol, a polyisocyanate, an isocyanate trimmer-forming catalyst, a blowing agent and the like. n CONSTITUTION: The following components are mixed and reacted: (A) a polyol, OH value ≥200, (B) a polyisocyanate, e.g., tolylene 2,4,-diisocyanate, in an amount to provide isocyanate groups 1.7W20 times (by equivalent) the active hydrogen atoms in component A, (C) an isocyanate trimmer-forming catalyst, e.g., p-dimethylaminomethylphenol, and (D) a blowing agent, e.g., methylene chloride, trichloromonofluoromethane. In this way, a shock absorbing foam comprising a urethane-modified isocyanate is obtained which has a brittleness of 40W100% when measured according to ASTMC-421, an average cell diameter ≤0.5mm, and a density of 0.025W0.1g/cc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
