PURPOSE:To provide a new removing agent with high activity selectively removing CO from a CO containing gas at a room temp. which comprises Pd or a Pd compound and active MnO2. CONSTITUTION:The titled CO removing agent is obtained by combining Pd or a Pd compound (e.g.; PdCl2) against active manganese dioxide (MnOx, 1<x<2) in a range of 0.06-0.3 in the weight composition ratio. In comining the Pd compound and the active manganese dioxide, powders of both compounds may be merely mixed. Further, the active manganese dioxide is immersed in an aqueous solution of the Pd compound and, thereafter, a solvent is removed to coat a surface of the active manganese dioxide with Pd salts. When this removing agent is used, an oxidation speed of CO to CO2 is sufficiently high as well as reduction of oxidation activity due to affect of moisture coexisted in a gas is small. |
