abstract PURPOSE: The titled composition containing a high polymeric coating agent insoluble in gastric juice and intestinal juice and a gastric soluble high polymeric coating agent, having a wide range of use with improved elution pattern, and capable of exhibiting good elution. n CONSTITUTION: A coating composition containing a high polymeric coating agent insoluble in gastric juice and intestinal juice, e.g. an alkyl cellulose or polyethylene, or an enteric high polymeric coating agent, e.g. methacrylic acid-methacrylic ester copolymer, and a gastric soluble high polymeric coating agent, e.g. cellulose acetate dibutylaminohydroxypropyl ether, or water-soluble high polymeric coating agent, e.g. PVA or gelatin, at a weight ratio between the former and the latter of 100: (5W50), preferably 100:(10W40) by pts.wt. A uniform pharmaceutical without delayed elution can be obtained even by using the agent in an amount enough to mask the bitterness, and a prolonged release type pharmaceutical having good control of elution time and a lasting pharmaceutical having the prolonged action with little variation due to the individual difference, etc. can be obtained. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
