titleOfInvention | Electrooptic element |
abstract | PURPOSE:To elevate a characteristic such as stability, intensity, etc., by using a solid solution which has uniformly dispersed a polarity substance of a comparatively low molecular weight having an electrooptic effect, in a high polymer substance. CONSTITUTION:As for a polar substance, a nitro aromatic compound such as nitrobenzene, etc., a nitro-substituted cyclic compound such as nitropyridine, etc., and the like are used, and as for a high polymer substance having compatibility to said substance, alkylacrylate resin such as polymethyl methacrylate, etc. and thermoplastic resin such as polystyrene, etc. are used. An electrooptic resin layer 2 is obtained by melting and forming a resin composite which has mixed uniformly said both substances in a prescribed ratio, and optically polished electrodes 3, 4 are provided on the surface. The resin layer 2 can be formed in a film shape too. These electrooptic elements are useful as an element which is used for an intensity modulating equipment and a deflecting equipment of light. |
