titleOfInvention Testing method for sensitivity of zinc oxide
abstract PURPOSE:To discriminate the suitability as a photoconductive layer, by rapidly and accurately measuring the sensitivity of photoconductive ZnO by the diffraction intensity of a mirror index 002 face and 101 face by measuring X-ray diffraction of a resin-dispersed layer of powdered ZnO or ZnO. CONSTITUTION:Measurement of X-ray diffraction is performed by filling a photoconductive ZnO powder on a sample board or on a resin-dispersed layer obtained by applying paints dispersed in an acrylic resin solution on a conductive supporter and drying the resulting layer. Respective ratios of the diffraction intensity of a mirror index 002 face to that of 001 face, of each diffraction intensity X a half value width and of the integrated value of each diffraction intensity, are computed by the measurement of X-ray diffraction. The more the ratio is high, the more the sensitivity of ZnO to light is high and it is suitable for the conductive layer when the ratio is about twice. Thus, the suitability is judged rapidly only performing the X-ray measurement in powdered state or on the photoconductive layer by forming the photoconductive layer, charging and exposing and not measuring the real photosensitivity.
