abstract | PURPOSE: To exactly prevent the release of unburned and odorous components in combustion gas during the course including ignition period by providing an adsorbent to adsorb the unburned and odorous components and a catalist to clean these components in a combustion gas pathway from a burner. n CONSTITUTION: Combustion gas formed in a burner 1 is directed through a combustion gas pathway 2 into a heat exchanger 3, where it is heat-exchanged with air in the chamber, and then discharged from an outlet 2a. In such a combustor A for heating, a catalyst-bearing adsorbent 4 is two-stepwise provided on the upstream side of the heat exchanger 3 in the combustion gas pathway 2. The catalyst-bearing adsorbent 4 is obtained by supporting a catalyst to clean unburned and odorous components on an adsorbent to adsorb the unburned component (CO, etc.) and the odorous components (acetaldehyde, formaldehyde, etc.) present in combustion gas. The said adsorbent serves to adsorb and hold unburned components, etc., until the catalyst reaches an activation temperature. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
