abstract The antibiotics mimosamycin and chlorcarcins A, B and C, as well as their acid addition salts, are obtained by cultivation of Streptomyces lavendulae strain No. 314 (NRRL 11002) and subsequent separation and isolation from the culture broth. Mimosamycin has antibacterial properties on Gram-positive bacteria, whereas chlorcarcins A, B and C have an antitumour action.
