titleOfInvention Animal hair-like artificial fiber
abstract PURPOSE: Artificial fibers, prepared by dividing and sharpening fibrous tip parts, having lustrous gloss and improved touch, and closely resembling the natural animal hair, e.g. mink or marten. n CONSTITUTION: At least one tip part of each artifical fiber, e.g. polyester or polyamide fiber, is treated with a solvent or a dividing agent for the fiber, e.g. chloroform-phenol mixture for the polyester fiber or sulfuric acid for the polyamide fiber, to dissolve an or decompose the constricted part. Thus, the tip part is divided into plural parts and sharpened to give the aimed fiber having one or more constricted parts in the cross section thereof, a flatness ratio (L/M)≥1.2 and at least one tip part divided by the constricted part and sharpened. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
