titleOfInvention Sputtering of polyacetal resin
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a metallized polyacetal resin having excellent adhesion, by contacting a polyacetal molding with a primer of a thermoplastic, organic solvent-soluble cellulose and, then, with a base coat and sputtering the molding. n CONSTITUTION: A polyacetal molding is coated with a primer consisting of a thermoplastic organic solvent-soluble cellulose, e.g., cellulose acetate butyrate, an aliphatic phosphate ester and boron trifluoride and dried at 100W160°C for 10min or longer. A base coat, e.g., urethane paint, is applied to the film and dried. Next, this molding is treated in a sputtering apparatus at an Ar gas pressure of 5×10 -3 W 2×10 -4 Torr to form a 300W1,000Å thick metal film. Next, a top coat is applied to it. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
