titleOfInvention Oxygen electrode for battery
abstract PURPOSE:To render the manufacturing process simple and enhance the stability of an electrode, by using cobalt oxyhydroxide as a catalyst used for as oxygen electrode for the battery. CONSTITUTION:An oxygen electrode used for a fuel cell or a battery whose negative electrode is such a metal as zinc, iron, cadmium or the like can be obtained as follows. After all, a catalyst and a conductor such as activated charcoal or the like are mixed to make a mixture, then a binding agent such as polytetrafluoroethylene or the like is added into the mixture, which is molded into a sheet, the former sheet being compression-adhered to both surfaces of the nickel net to form the oxygen electrode. In this case, cobalt oxyhydroxide is used as a catalyst of the oxygen electrode, and also, the preferable content is in the range of 4-30wt%.
