abstract | NEW MATERIAL:A physiologically active substance obtained from the ink of a cuttlefish or an octopus having the following properties. Form: black noncrystalline powder. Solubility: slightly soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, benzene, etc. Melting point: ≥300°C. Values of elementary, analysis: C 47W50%, H 3W4%, O 38W41%, N 8W9%, and ash 0.06W0.08%. Molecular weight: a mixture of a substance with about 25,000 and a substance with ≥160,000 (gel filtration of Sephadex G-100). UV spectrum: shown by the formula. n USE: Having inhibiting actions on gastric juice secretion and anti-inflammatory actions, an alcer-preventive drug and anti-inflammatory agent.
