NEW MATERIAL:The titled compound expressed by formula I (X is alkylene; n is 0, 1 or 2; R 1 and R 3 are lower lakyl; R 2 is H or lower alkyl; R 4 is lower alkyl or lower alkenyl; R 5 is benzoyl, benzenesulfonyl. etc.). n EXAMPLE: 3-Benzoyloxy-2-( N-ethoxybutylimidoyl )-5-( 2-ethylthiopropyl )-2-cyclohexen-1-one. n USE: A selective herbicide useful particularly for gramineous weeds e.g. oats, large crab-grass or Deccan grass, with no toxicity to leguminous and broad-leaf crops. n PROCESS: A compound expressed by formula II is reacted with an aromatic acyl halide, sulfonyl halide or an acid anhydride expressed by the formula Y-R 5 or (RCO) 2 O (R is halogen, lower alkyl, alkoxyl, etc.; Y is halogen) in a solvent, e.g. acetone or ether, to give the compound expressed by formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
