abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a polyester having high polymerization degree through a reaction at normal pressure or under pressure, by adding a cyclic iminoester compound of a specific structure to a saturated polyester. n CONSTITUTION: A saturated polyester substantially linear, having ≤1 equivalent/ 10 6 g terminal methyl group, e.g., polyethylene terephthalate, etc. is reacted with preferably 0.5W5wt% at least one of cyclic iminoester compounds [e.g., 2,2'- bis( 3,1-benzooxazine-4-one ); 2,8-dimethyl-4H,6H-benzo( 1,2-d; 5,4-d' )bis( 1,3 ) oxazine-4,6-dione, etc. ] shown by the formula I (D and X is bifunctional organic group; ring structure of a group shown by the formula II is 5-6 membered ring) or shown by the formula III (R 1 and R 2 are monofunctional organic group; A is a compound having tetra valent aromatic group), and, if necessary, a monoepoxy compound, at ≥ the melting point of the polyester to ≤290°C. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
