titleOfInvention | Reducing method of benzenediazonium sulfate |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain phenylhydrazine useful as an intermediate for medicine, dye, etc. in high yield, by reducing benzenediazonium sulfate with ammonium sulfite and ammonium hydrogensulfite as reducing agents under specific conditions. n CONSTITUTION: Benzenediazonium sulfate is reduced with ammonium sulfite and ammonium hydrogensulfite as reducing agents in an aqueous medium at pH 5.2W 7.0 under a pressure of the saturated vapor pressure of the reaction mixture to 10kg/cm 2 .gauge to give an acid salt of phenylhydrazine. The resultant compound is then reacted with a base and converted into phenylhydrazine. The reducing raction is preferably carried out at 30W50°C for 30min or longer in the initial period of the reaction and then at 80W100°C. The starting material benzenediazonium sulfate can be obtained by diazotizing aniline with nitrous acid, etc. in an aqueous solution of sulfuric acid. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
