titleOfInvention Synthesizing method of acrylamide
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound useful as an agent for paper making, coagulant, a petroleum recovering agent and a soil solidifying agent, by hydrating acrylonitrile in the presence of a copper catalyst and a specific amount of acetone. n CONSTITUTION: Acrylonitrile is hydrated in the presence of a copper catalyst, e.g. a combination of copper in the form of a copper wire or copper powder with copper ions, reduced copper or electrolytic copper, at a weight ratio between the acrylonitrile and the water of preferably 60:40W5:95 to give acrylamide. In the process, acetone is present in an amount of 30W10,000ppm, and the reaction temperature is preferably 70W150°C. The catalyst os kept away from contact with oxygen and a gas containing oxygen before and during use thereof. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
