titleOfInvention Novel mitomycin derivative
abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I [R 1 is alkoxy, substituted carbamoyloxy; R 2 is CH 2 R 3 (R 3 is H, alkyl, alkoxycarbonyl, acyloxy), acyl]. n EXAMPLE: 1a-N-Methoxycarbonylmethylmitomycin A. n USE: Antibiotic or antitumor agent. n PREPARATION: For example, mitomycin A of formula II is dissolved in a solvent such as dimethylformamide, combined with methyl bromoacetate and potassium cabonate and they are stirred under a flow of nitrogen at room temperature. After the completion of the reaction, excessive potassium carbonate in the reaction mixture is filtered off and excessive methyl bromoacetate and the solvent are distilled off. The residue is subjected to silica-gel chromatography using chloroform-methanol mixed solvent as a developing solvent to effect purification, thereby the compound of formula I is obtained. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
