titleOfInvention Preparation of ester-type liquid material
abstract PURPOSE: To prepare the titled substance, in high yield without side reactions, discoloration, and danger, by the esterification reaction of a substituted benzoic acid or a substituted cyclohexylcarboxylic acid with a phenol in the presence of a condensing agent such as 4-toluenesulfonyl chloride. n CONSTITUTION: The titled compound is prepared by the esterification reaction of a p-substituted benzoic acid or 4-substituted cyclohexylcarboxylic acid with a phenol , e.g. 4-cyanophenol, in the presence of a condensing agent of formula R-SO 2 Cl (R is tolyl, mesityl, or 2,4,6-triisopropylphenyl). The condensing agent is pref. mesitylsulfonyl chloride, 2,4,6-triisopropylphenyl-sulfonyl chloride, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
