abstract | PURPOSE: To modify a relatively low melt viscosity polyester elastomer into title ealstomer, by employing both a specified metal salt and a mono- or polycarboxylic acid in the reaction of the polyester elastomer with a diepoxide compound. n CONSTITUTION: The following components are molten and mixed: (A) a block copoly(ether-ester) elastomer obtained from a dicarboxylic acid based on terephthalic acid or its esterifiable derivative and a low-MW glycol or its esterifiable derivative, e.g., ethylene glycol and a polyalkylene glycol, MW 600W4,000, e.g., polyethylene glycol, (B) 10W100mmol per kg elastomer of diepoxy compound, e.g., compound of the formula, and (C) 0.02W0.95mol/mol of diepoxy compound of Group Ia or IIa metal salt, e.g., potassium salt, of a 10C or higher monocarboxylic acid, e.g., benzoic acid, and/or dicarboxylic acid, e.g., phthalic acid and a monocarboxylic acid and/or a polycarboxylic acid. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
