titleOfInvention | Preparation of aromatic fluorine compound |
abstract | PURPOSE: To prepare the titled compound in high purity and yield, in a short time, at a low temperature, by the fluorination reaction of a benzene compound such as o-chloronitrobenzene with an alkali metal fluoride in a binary mixture consisting of an N-containing polar solvent and an S-containing polar solvent. n CONSTITUTION: An aromatic fluorine compound is prepared by reacting a benzene compound having an electron attracting group and Cl or Br at the ortho- or para- position (e.g. p-chloronitrobenzene, 2,4-dichloronitrobenzene, etc.) with an alkali metal fluoride (e.g. potassium fluoride). The reaction is carried out in a binary mixture consisting of an N-containing polar solvent [e.g. DMF, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), etc.] and an S-containing polar solvent (e.g. dimethyl sulfoxide, sulfolane, etc.). Esp. the combination of NMP and dimethyl sulfoxide or sulfolane is preferable. The reaction temperature is 160W240°C. The solvent can be recovered at 95% recovery. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
