abstract PURPOSE: To regenerate a chlorine type strongly basic anionic exchange resins effectively and simply by passing the ion exchange resins used in the decolorizing purification of a sirup through an aqueous solution of calcium chloride. n CONSTITUTION: When the adsorptive capability of the chlorine type strongly basic anionic exchange-resin used in the decolorizing purification of the sirup, e.g., aqueous sugar solution, aqueous glycerine solution, etc., is lowered, the catalyst is passed through the aqueous solution of calcium chloride, whereupon coloring matters or other foreign matters such as organics adsorbed on the fine pores of the resin are effectively eluted and thereby the regeneration of the catalyst is effectively attained. Also, because a combined treatment using medium hypochlorite is performed, the operational control of the regeneration is made easier. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
