PURPOSE: To obtain titled prepolymer which can provide molded products excellent in heat resistance, etc., by reacting, under heating, a specified bisimide with a specified diamine in an organic solvent and then, after adding an epoxy compound to the reaction solution, reacting the resulting mixture under heating. n CONSTITUTION: A bisimide of formula II, wherein R 2 is a 2C or higher bivalent organic group, derived from an ethylenic dicarboxylic acid anhydride of formula I, wherein R 1 is a bivalent organic group containing a carbon to carbon double bond, e.g., N,N'-m-phenylenebismaleimide, is reacted, under heating, with a diamine of formula III, wherein R 3 is a 2C or higher organic group, e.g., p-phenylenediamine, in an organic solvent, b.p. 70W170°C, e.g., dioxane. Next, an epoxy compound having at least two epoxy groups, e.g., epoxy resin, is added to the reaction solution and further reacted, under heating, to obtain the imide type prepolymer of the purpose. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
