titleOfInvention Benzenesulfonamide derivative and plant blight controlling agent containing said compound as active compound
abstract NEW MATERIAL:The titled compound of formula I (R 1 is methyl, methoxy, cyano or nitro; both R 2 and R 3 are ethyl and substituted at 2 and 6 positions, or Cl and substituted at 3 and 5 positions, etc.; provided that when R 1 is nitro, R 2 and R 3 are ethyl). n EXAMPLE: N-(2,6-Diethylphenyl)-2-methylbenzenesulfonamide. n USE: A plant blight controlling agent. Also useful as a synthetic intermediate of pesticides, etc. n PROCESS: The compound of formula I is prepared by the condensation reaction of the 2-substituted benzenesulfonyl chloride of formula II with the substituted aniline of formula III in a solvent such as benzene, toluene, etc. at a temperature between room temperature and a temperature close to the boiling point of the solvent. The reaction is carried out if necessary in the presence of an acid acceptor such as aliphatic tert-amine, quinoline, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
