titleOfInvention Water-based coating composition
abstract PURPOSE: To prepare the titled composition having excellent rapid-curability, drying characteristics, weather resistance, etc., by using a salt of a carboxyl-containing alkyd resin derived from a polyhydric alcohol, a polybasic acid, a modified oil, and a cyclopentadiene resin as a vehicle component. n CONSTITUTION: The objective composition contains, as a vehicle component, a water-soluble or water-dispersible salt of a carboxyl group-containing alkyd resin obtained by the reaction of (A) a polyhydric alcohol such as glycerine, (B) a polybasic acid such as phthalic acid, (C) a modified oil such as tung oil, and (D) a cyclopentadiene resin having a softening point of 80W150°C, pref. 100W140°C. The amount of the cyclopentadiene monomer in the component (D) is pref. ≥ 30wt%. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
