titleOfInvention | Simultaneous production of sterol with red dye chrysanthemin by tissual culture of euphorbia millii ch. des moulins |
abstract | PURPOSE: To collect a red dye chrysanthemin and sterol,by cultivating a callus derived from a plant tissue of Euphorbia Millii Ch. des Moulins in a culture medium containing an α-naphthaleneacetic acid, sucrose, etc. under irradiation with light at a specific lux value or more. n CONSTITUTION: Leaves of Euphorbia Millii Ch. des Moulins which is a plant of the genus Euphorbia are sterilized, cut to small pieces, and cultivated to form a callus. The resultant callus is then cultivated in a culture medium containing an α-naphthaleneacetic acid in a concentration of 10 -4 W10 -7 M, sucrose in an amount of 1W10wt%, organic substances in a very small amount, various natural extracted substances, etc. in the well-known inorganic synthetic agar culture medium. The cultivation is carried out under irradiation with light at 100 luxes or more. The aimed substances are obtained as follows: Sterol is collected by immersing the cultivated cells in an acid, water or alcohol, extracting the aimed substances, removing the solid substances, concentrating the residue, and extracting the residue with an ether. The remaining solution is then dried under reduced pressure to afford a red dye chrysanthemin of the formula. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
