PURPOSE:A cosmetic, containing one or two or more saturated dihydric alcohols, and having improved safety and microbial safety. CONSTITUTION:A cosemetic containing preferably 1-10wt% one or two or more saturated dihydric alcohols of the formula HO-(CH2)n-OH (n is an integer 4-6), e.g. 1,4-butanediol, and having improved safety, microbial safety and functional properties. For example, the resultant skin lotion, milky lotion or cream containing the 1,4-butanediol has light slip as a whole and is capable of giving a refreshing remaining feeding to the skin as compared with the conventional cosmetic. |
