abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a granular ethylene polymer having uniform particle sizes and high bulk density, by using a solid catalyst component prepared by reacting a specific Al compound with an aliphatic alcohol, Si compound, organomagnesium compound, and a halogen-containing Ti or V compound. n CONSTITUTION: Ethylene is (co)polymerized in the presence of a catalyst obtained by reacting a mixture of an Al compound[e.g., (C 2 H 5 ) 2 AlCl, etc.] shown by the formula (R 1 is H, or 1W10C alkyl; X is Cl or Br; 0<n<3) and an aliphatic alcohol to give a rection product, reacting it with the reaction product A 1 of hydropolysiloxane or an Si compound (e.g., α,ω-dihydroxydimethylpolysiloxane, etc.) having Si linked to an organic group and OH group with an organomagnesium compound (e.g., nC 4 H 9 MgCl, etc.) to give the reaction product A 2 , reacting it with a halogen-containing Ti or V compound (e.g., TiCl 4 , etc.) to give (A) the solid catalyst component, followed by blending (A) this component with (B) an organoaluminum compound[e.g., (C 2 H 5 ) 3 Al, etc.]. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
